A whodunit for children – updated weekly. Each story is about 700 words in length. Click on the name of the person you suspect, and you can see how others have chosen, along with the correct solution and the reasoning. The same site has shorter stories and some mystery stories written by children.

As always – caution should be exercised when searching any site for images with children – but this site contains 2,000 free images for websites, PowerPoint, newsletters, forums, schools and homework. The site offers a search facility, as well as the ability to browse images via categories.

A limited number of photogrpahps can be downloaded by anyone from this site. Sign up for free membership in order to be able to search for a wide range of images. As mentioned in the link above – care should be taken searching any site for images.

British Library Images Online -http://www.imagesonline.bl.uk/britishlibrary/controller/showtree – Audio visual resources - All users of images

Images Online gives you instant access to thousands of the greatest images from the British Library’s collections which include manuscripts, rare books and maps spanning almost 3000 years with material from every continent. This link takes you to the subject index – but there is also a search facility. Higher quality image files can be purchased on CD, but images for personal or school use can simply be copied the free of charge from the web pages.
