New versions of both Studio 2 and Primary 2 were demonstrated at BETT in January -patches to upgrade to version 2.5 are now available for download from the support pages of the Prometheanworld.com website.
There are also training animations which illustrate how the new features work. Depending on which version of the software is installed, you may need to download and install two patches on your system – see the Promethean website for more details.
There are more improvements than we can list here – but we think the most useful are:
- screen recorder – Primary
- higher quality video playback – Studio & Primary
- ability to print page notes – Studio & Primary
- keyword search for resources – Primary
- new resources – Primary
- an ability to edit imported vector clipart (.wmf & .emf files) – Studio & Primary
- …and more

There are a fabulous wealth of new resources within the new downloadable update to ActivPrimary 2. There are new flipcharts in all subject areas, new Activote flipcharts and a wide range of new images and photographs in most of the areas in the resource library. The images are very relevent to all areas of the National Curriculum and using the new resource manager within the settings menu they are easy to find. There are a few new easy to use tools and that will also prove useful in the classroom.
The new package is worth an hour of your time in order to save you days worth of work.
